Southern Maryland Artist Launches Art_Savvy Fine Art and Photography

Southern Maryland is a peaceful place surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay and the Patuxent River.  This community has a very vital artist community and many scenic opportunities for artists to capture the essence of many versatile natural settings.

One of these artists is self taught artist, Lauren Rivers of Calvert County, Maryland.  Born in Evanston, Illinois, Lauren Rivers relocated to Maryland at the young age of 3 years old with her mother.  Loving art from a young age it was more common to catch the youth drawing or painting instead of worrying about the ABC's.  However, as Lauren matured she nutured a love of both academics and art.

Now a career educator, Lauren has merged her love of art with her love of academia by transitioning her career as a academic subject area teacher to an art teacher with the Calvert County Public School System.

In her spare time she creates beautiful pieces of artwork that depict landscapes, commissioned portraits, and fleur de lis inspired mandala designs.  This website launches her artwork into the modern web-based marketplace and highlights her Art_Savvy line of original artwork.
